Dahua AI “Active Deterrent” series cameras

Dahua’s AI “Active Deterrent” series cameras are IP cameras with lights, loudspeaker and microphone (built in two-way audio only supported on Dome cameras) that also have AI functionality built in to the cameras. Monitoring may be able to support two way audio function via Patriot.

All cameras have the same “smart plan” functions. The term “Smart Plan” is a Dahua term for AI abilities. These are:

  • IVS (Intelligent video system)

  • People counting/queueing

  • Heat-map.

IVS is a suite of AI features, which in layman's terms are a set of algorithms designed and developed for different purposes and scenarios. For example, you may use the Missing Object feature to monitor when a pallet of soil goes missing. Or you may use the Parking detection to notify a user when someone has parked in a pre-defined area at a certain time.

All active deterrent series cameras have the same IVS features which include the following:

• Tripwire (with recognition filter for vehicles and/or people)

• Intrusion (with recognition filter for vehicles and/or people)

• Missing Object

• Abandoned Object

• Loitering detection

• Parking detection

• People gathering estimation.

All dome and bullet cameras sold under the “Active Deterrent” series have the ability to people count as well as queue monitoring capabilities. People counting features requires a Dahua 5i NVR or DSS software (licensed Dahua pro software) to work effectively.

People counting cannot be active (working at the camera level) at the same time as IVS functions above. You have to chose either IVS functions or People counting.

All dome and bullet cameras sold under the “Active Deterrent” series have the ability to monitor the usage of a area through the “heat-map” function. However you cannot use Heatmap injunction with another feature such as IVS functions or People counting.
